...I'll have to crowdsource it, because as you can tell from my first draft. I don't really get a great view on everything:
Someone scored a goal in a certain fashion in the first quarter. Then we had an awkward goal against us where I ran out to the first ball that was launched from godknows how far. We (Asli, apparently hungover) and myself struggled to clear it - easy 1st goal for the Dutch.
Second goal to the Dutch: A goalie, not sure which one, lifted his foot thinking there was no one behind him, but there was and that made for a "lucky" second goal for the Orangemen.
Nkoni did an excellent job of clearing a penalty corner. I liked that.
At half time we had a great pep talk from Paddy, following on from Tony's inspiring pep talk earlier on.
It went something along the lines of, they're almost entirely average apart from two players mark them stay in their half bish-bash-bosh then goals.
Then some more goals were scored, I'm not sure by whom or in what quarter but I was relieved that a single mistake had not led to the end of the world (especially having bragged before the game to one of the fresh Tornados that I can't remember ever losing to the Dutch).
There were two other memorable bits for me. Ming Wei teaming up with me to not let us embarrass the Dutch with too big a score difference, by appealing a goal and giving the Dutch a second chance. Fortunately for the Dutch they had a keeper that had turned up for the game.
The other was Paddy getting up to his usual aggro tricks, picking up a ball halfway through play and launching it into some guy with plaits. He had plaits ffs, course Paddy wasn't going to let it slide.
This is the game from a keepers perspective.
Oh one final note, the ref one side seemed pretty competent, the other ref enjoyed a walkabout which was nice to see ?.
