L2 vs Jansenites MakCiks
a goal, a goal!
Thank the heavens that game was on a Saturday evening and we didn't have to worry about the scorching hot sun - definitely helpful for us since we only have 12 players !
Overall, it was an eventful (and noisy) match, and a whirlwind of emotions. There were so many arguments and disagreements (even swearing, in Malay!) between certain folks and the umpires ?.. Meanwhile the Tornados ladies were all civilized, disciplined players with great attitude and who showed extraordinary sportsmanship towards everybody on the pitch. Hehe so proud of us!
We circled the D, and had many opportunities to score but they slipped through our fingers until we reached our 2nd quarter, when we ?BROKE OUR EGG? thanks to Max, by scoring an amazing short corner goal ??
But alas.. that happiness was short-lived when Jansenites Makciks deflected a PC top D shot into goal. Then we got another heart attack! The umpire called a goal during another PC, but it was a high and very dangerous ball so she retracted the decision and caused another protest (this one was much louder and longer) from the captain.
Also, special mention to
1. Hui Xin, our ever so fantastic spidey goalie who played 2 games back to back and still defended every attempt that came our way, and
2. Our lovely supporters - the numbers were enough to form a village, and their presence was definitely a boost of confidence!
Despite the game being a emotional roller coaster ride , I dare say that we all thoroughly enjoyed the journey and may we all keep making progress towards more goals in the near future!!
