L2 VS Tannibellies

Tornados L2 went up against Tannibellies Red on a humid Saturday evening with only 10 confirmed players.

Special thanks to Wani for standing in to see us through to the first half despite her prior commitment to another game at the far East of the island!

Our defence was solid with Maxine, Rashvin, Qiaoen and Perrine repelling multiple attacks. Tannibellies Red were attacking relentlessly most of the time and we almost gave our dear coach a heart attack. All these shots (including 2 short corners) were safely cleared by our Goal keeper, Xin, the defenders and midfielders (Eline and YB).

By the end of the first quarter, the game was still 0-0 and we were encouraged by our solid defending.

Second Quarter saw more attacks by Tannibellies. Despite lots of running by The Forwards, Atifah, Wani, Rachel and Phyllis, we were unable to make any significant chances.

At half time, our coach, Salan gave us a stirring speech. We went into the second half and managed to create several goal scoring opportunities. Rachel got the ball high in the field and ran into the D but was unable to get a clear shot on goal. Phyllis, YB and Atifah battled hard to create some amazing passes and stops.

By the end of the 3rd quarter, the score was still 0-0.

We started the 4th quarter a little apprehensive . Despite this, everyone worked extremely hard. Phyllis went down with a cramp but was able to return to the pitch fairly quickly. The team continued to press on and we made it to the end of the game 0-0. A fantastic result and our very first point for the season. Well done everyone!
